just got OTA update... said it has bug and "security fix"... what security issues were there?

BTW, google maps has issues after each update for me (Froyo and GB)... but over time it seemed to get better - maps do load a little slow, so hopefully this fix helps...

Also, I had horrible battery life after GB, but not too many people were mentioning it back then so I thought it might be the battery itself - I called HTC and they sent a new one - it actually seems to hold a charge longer (coincidence or related to GB I dont know)...

I havent been on the N1 since the recent update so I dont know what/if any changes are noticeable... it seems to be more of a bug/security fix - but I'm curious about the security part.

It was announced on the tech blogs (no link handy) that some one found root exploit in GB (as in 3rd party app malware), so my guess is its fixing that.

Got my update this morning - then promptly dropped my phone from my bike and a car rode over it. The glass is all cracked up, but, amazingly, the phone still works perfectly (except for the power button that was already starting to go. It's not any worse now, but I was just about to call and get it repaired anyway.).

no benefit in battery life here... in fact, it might be my imagination - but seems to be worse now.

After previous GB update, battery was definitely worse - I contacted HTC (thinking maybe its the battery and not GB), they sent me a new one and it actually held charge longer... until this update - last couple days it seems to drain faster.

As for GPS, maps load faster and traffic layer might be a little faster - but location access takes just as long and traffic layer is still iffy as to accuracy. I love Google Maps and rely on it daily for traffic and often for GPS - when I forst got the phone I LOVED maps! But after each upgrade/update it seems to lose a bit... recent update didnt negate any worse (or as bad) as previous.

The only real difference I've noticed is internet speed... when I get a decent signal it's smokin fast! I dont know how/if this update could have anything to do with internet speed - maybe its a coincident and something else is causing it - but I'm not imagining this, it is definitely faster!
