Ya the other one is recovery-at-boot.sh or something like that I can't remember exactly and it's directly in /system but you don't have to delete that one just the install-recovery.sh does the trick.

These are the two for anyone's FYI. The rm is used thru command window or just go to /system with Root Explorer.

    rm /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
    rm /system/recovery-from-boot.p

    Downside to what?

I would still make sure both scripts are gone from system

Doesn't look like Amon supports the g2x yet--you could ask on his thread:

    [Recovery] [07-Jan-2011] RA-passion-v2.2.1 - xda-developers

and even post your problem on Rom Mgr/CWMod thread:

[RECOVERY] [APPS] ROM Manager and Clockwork Recovery Image v1.6 3/8/2010 - xda-developers

You will need to get flash_image on card to flash a recovery thru Terminal Emulator--at least for Amon on the N1.

I like MyBackUpPro fro backing up everything if you can't nandroid and if Titanium works for you do apps with it, although MBUPro does apps.

Did you try using Root Explorer and changing System to R/W then try putting flash image on card. Did you extract the .img from the zip you downloaded then put it on card?

    Look at this:

LG G2x: Full Update Guide - CyanogenMod Wiki

    and this:

    CyanogenMod Forum

g2x may be diff than N1 on getting recovery on it

and I don't know if the CWMod 3.+ is not working well on the g2x like the N1. May need the latest 2.5+

Are you still trying to install recovery via terminal?

Post a link to the nvflash thread you're following, and I'll take a look...

Also, here's flash_image - I keep a copy in my dropbox, along with everything else...

    Thanks DR

I'm pretty sure that I have no choice when it come to recovery,
I have my buddy bringing his laptop
So I'm going to give nvflash a try I tried yesterday on XP with no luck.

I was hoping I could flash through terminal like I did amonRa with my nexus.

Here's the thread(s) I've been reading can't find nothing about using terminal.

I was just reading Chris Soyars thread on XDA (the second link you posted). I think that is the way to go, since it's Linux based.

I would put all the files in the same folder on your SD card, navigate to that folder in terminal, and run the same command that is in the flash-recovery script, namely:

    su

    THEN

    ./nvflash --bct E1108_Hynix_512MB_H8TBR00U0MLR-0DM_300MHz_final_emmc_x8.bct --bl fastboot.bin --download 5 recovery-star-test2.img

If you want to make it a bit easier to type, you could try changing the names of the files - but that may not work...
