    Well nothing wrong with a refurb as that is what I have. My X got smoked at a month old and they sent me a refurb which has been problem free. I'd imagine you could check out the serial/batch number and call up the manufacturer to verify.

    The difference in an LCD and an AMOLED... just look at anything with black in it... If the blacks are like real deep black, and the colors are really vibrant it's an AMOLED. Otherwise it's an LCD.

    If I was told I was going to get a new device and was slipped a refurb I would be upset, my guess is the O/P is just trying to make sure

    I found a post in other forums about how to check if your mobile is SLCD or Amoled:


    Check Microp in bootloader.
    1. Switch off phone.
    2. Hold Vol-down and turn on phone.
    3. Check microp version no. in bootloader:
    0c15: SLCD
    0b15: AMOLED




    and my replacement is Amoled
