I just found out that the power button works as "sleep & wake" when locked.
when locked, power button bring the unlock screen and if I press again, locks again (black screen) is this normal??
The nexus one has the same behavior as the iPhone. You press the power button to make your phone sleep. You press it again to wake it up. If you hold this button down the OS will display a couple of options for you (let go after it displays these options.) You can choose an option by tapping or selecting silent mode, airplane mode, or power off.
Yes it is normal for it to bring up the unlock screen, if you don't want to unlock it you press the sleep/wake button and it will put it to sleep, or if you leave it at the lock screen, it will go to sleep after about 15 seconds.
I had the same problem, and here is how I solved my issue. I did a hard reset on the phone, and during setup, I bypassed the Gmail account setup and let the phone boot up all the way until I got full reception and it was working. Try the power button at that point and you should see it work. After that, click on the Gmail icon and setup your Gmail account through there. Please let me know if this works for you.
I got it working... factory reset did it.
I think its from my old setting....which is backed up on my backup pro.
