    Get rid of the trackball...It is only going to be a point of failure (like on my old BB 8900). The only thing it is good for is selecting text and that could be handled better by a more robust software solution.

    Either get rid of the Back, Menu, Home, and Search buttons (adding them to the UI) or redesign them so that if you touch the center of the icon it actually actuates the mapped command.

    SMOOTH OUT THE SOFTWARE...this thing snags, jerks, hesitates and pauses WAY TOO MUCH for the hardware it is running. I don't show it off anymore b/c of all the hiccups.

    Improve keyboard algorithm...I hate to say it but iPhone is better in this area

    In the past I've been a proponent of having physical keyboards on smartphones, but I've really warmed up to the virtual keyboards on the G1 and N1, and now I don't miss having a physical keyboard at all.

    Off hand, there are only two improvements I would make to the N1: First, the removal of the trackball; it's redundant if not completely useless, and it mars the device aesthetically. Second, I would put a larger display on it similar to the HD2's.
