You would look a right bell end holding that to your ear to make a call.
Thats why you would have Bluetooth or an earpiece with microphone.

    - no Flash support
    - no USB port
    - no SD card slot
    - no multitasking
    - $130 extra just for 3G support
    - paying an extra $15 or $30 for a 3G data plan (in addition to your phone), even if contractless
This is why i keep my G1 with wifi-tethering in my bag at all times. I can tether the 3G to the Wifi of the iPad or my Zune HD and call it a day. :-)

No multitasking may be a deal breaker for me.

The lack of a camera or phone I could care less.

Hell lack of flash should be a giant killer. It's a suppose computer, you would want to watch hulu, and play flash games and maybe watch some videos attached to a website / forum.

I thought it should be 2 inches thinner and come in a soft cottony case so that it could serve the purpose of interactive mentration protection.
edit: I just hope the ladies would wash their hands after checking their email on this dual purpose device.

In the Video Apple put out of the iPad presentation, they slammed netbooks as not being fast enough, pretty enough, etc. I'm typing this message now on a netbook, and it can multitask. No multitasking? Until that point came out, I was seriously considering getting one, but now it seems almost useless. I have a a 160GB HDD, wifi, winXP(multi-tasking!!) a camera, mic, etc., all for about $300, oh and a few usb ports for tethering my N1(25 bucks a month for data thank you)...oh yeah, and FLASH!

No Flash???Really??? In the video you'll see the websites they visit with what looks like the flash frames displaying the 'install flash' icon.

iPad, like buying the sexiest new mid sized sedan....without mirrors or a reverse gear.

EDIT: oh and the 'unlocked' selling point. Sure, that's great, if you have a micro sim card, which they conveniently didn't mention was only available through AT&T at the moment, unless you lived somewhere else in the world(where?) where that standard has been adopted. Ahh, apple, I call chicanery.

on a side note, all of their release dates happen to be on a 30-day cycle....hmmm

    wtf?

No camera, no multitasking, no hdmi, I didn't see any usb ports, no flash, not widescreen... I'm waiting for the Vega.

    A great ebook reader? Yes.
    A giant iPod touch? Yes.
    Netbook killer? NO!!!

What were they thinking? No multitasking and completely closed platform.
With snow leopard it'd been an awesome device but it ended up ebook + entertainment device..

I want it.... But i'm realistic with what it is. Its a giant iPod Touch.

No camera/multitasking/phone/flash? LITERALLY a giant iPod touch. I would love it for the book reader, and all the games, not to mention being able to play all the apps I bought when I owned a ipod.
