Use your N1 on both T-Mobile and AT&T with a dual SIM adapter

    Hey guys,

So I got to talk to a customer at work today (I work for Sprint Business Care), who very well maybe a member of this forum, who is also a Nexus One owner. I was just activating a Blackberry for him and since he already knew all the steps for a Master Reset I basically got to sit and talk to him about nerd stuff for 10 minutes while we waited for his Blackberry to boot up and connect to the network.

He said that he is using his N1 with a dual sim adapter and can switch between using either provider. Obviously, you would need an account with each provider. But still, sounds pretty damn amazing to me. If you live in an area with spotty coverage I could see this being really handy. Since I can get T-Mobile service with no contract I will probably have to try this out myself.

I think you need to get a special sim card cutter (although some say you can do with scissors) that resembles a pair of vice grips and then get a special dual sim card adapter (that will fit in n1) and there seems to be several such adapters available.

if you friend could get you particular part numbers it would help

    thanks for the post

You know it is good because it "uses innovative and futuristic designs".

Kind of pricey. It looks like they have some models that don't require cutting your SIM. You probably couldn't find any room in the Nexus One for the cabling though.

I tried this website. But it says none of their adaptors are yet completely tested to be compatible with nexus one.

Does anyone know an alternative please? It will also be intresting to know how to cut sim cards ourselves.

This is for everyone that wants a Nexus One and doesn't want to pay $529 for it.

Only $119 for one that's shipped directly from China.

I would love to see one of these in person. When will Google learn they have to make the knock-offs available in stores?
