Exclamation Nexus One GPRS on Airtel

    Hi,
I got nexus one yesterday and using it in india with airtel.
I tried GPRS with below settings (http://www.nexusoneforum.net/forum/n...e-current.html).

    Name: Airtel
    APN: airtelgprs.com
    Proxy: *LEAVE BLANK*
    Port: *LEAVE BLANK*
    Username: *LEAVE BLANK*
    Password: *LEAVE BLANK*
    Server: *LEAVE BLANK*
    MMSC: *LEAVE BLANK*
    MMS Proxy: *LEAVE BLANK*
    MMS Port: *LEAVE BLANK*
    MCC: 404
    MNC: 45
    APN Type: none
My Questions are about the parameters MCC and MNC. When I change it to (MCC=234, MNC=10) and press back the complete setting gets disappeared from the 'Access
    Point Names'.
Can someone explain me whats is, MCC, MNC and APN Type.
I would really appreciate if some one gives settings for nexus one with airtel.

Try these settings below, also when a phone scans for a network, it does it based on it's MCC (Mobile Country Code) and a MNC (Mobile Network Code) which is stored in the SIM

When you put your sim in a different GSM phone those settings should be there automatically and you should not change it as this will cause network issues.

    Access Point Name: airtelgprs.com
    Connection Name : Mobile Office
    Data Bearer : GPRS
User Name : Your mobile number preceded by 91
    Prompt Passord : No
    Authentication : Normal
    Gateway IP Address : 202.56.231.117
    Connection Security : Off

    airtel settings

Here is the settings which i use for 'google nexus one' to work with airtel gprs. This settings works in bangalore, india.

    1) click menu icon (between back buton and home button)
    2) choose settings -> wireless & networks (first option) -> mobile networks(last option) -> Access point names(2nd option). By default it will be blank.
    3) click menu icon and touch "New APN"
    4) click Name and then give some name (like airtel) then press ok.
    5) click APN then give airtelgprs.com
    6) thats all. click menu icon and click save. i'll go back to the previous screen.
    7) make sure the given (airtel) is selected (green icon at the right side)
    8) LAST step....:: Restart your mobile and browse.

I got this mobile via my friend who came from USA.
I ordered in online (http://checkout.google.com). The total price was RS 26,650 (As of 8th Jan 2010).
    Price descr:
    google price $529 + tax => $562;
then credit card conversion charges bcoz i used indian credit card for payment (its 3.5%).
my comment about nexus one: worth buying it!

    try this::
Call customer care and ask for APN (Access Point Name) then change it in my previous post.
