Question Should I have to configure my Gmail Account in Nexus One?

I am yet to get my Nexus One soon. I having the following questions.

    1. I seen in one of the thread talking about the Gmail Accounts and the person who replied to the Questionaire that he needs to configure his primary Gmail Account in Nexus One.
    2. Assume that if I am going to present this phone to someone who does not have gmail id?
    3. Can we create simple contacts (without any gmail or yahoo account)?
    Thanks in Advance

If you do not use a Gmail account you will have a limited (IMHO) phone.

Your contacts will not be automatically backed up and sync'ed
You will Not be able to buy apps from the market or even use the market for that matter

Best thing is to have a gmail account.

The account can be added at anytime.

Is Gmail Account is the only way to backup? Can't we backup the contacts & messages using any PC Suite Application???

I want to isolate my Gmail Contacts from my mobile contacts. In other words, most of my mobile contacts does not have email id or they don't even know about email.

You can backup them up to the sdcard.

If your contact don't have email thats ok, I have about 60 contacts that are phone number only.

It would annoying in Gmail while adding recipient in compose email section. All the contacts with/without will show up.

Its ok. Anyways you have answered my questions.

    Thank you BacknBlack

If the contact does not have an email they will not show up while composing an email.
