    phone DUNKED

    got a bit of a splash in some water... took it apart, neither the battery or the internal compartment moisture stickers are triggered.

    phone is blinking amber-green when i attempted to power it on..

    put it in a bag of rice, we'll see how it looks in the morning..

    ugh... it's BRAND NEW!

    Wow that is nice to hear, If I ever dunk my phone I will try the rice method.
    I switched from Symbian to Android on January 6 2010...

    ...then I sold my N1 to get the AT&T version but I'll wait for a qwerty solution from google or better with AT&T band support and got the Nokia E75...

    What on earth does rice do to dry up a phone? I've read about it a couple of times, but how is it as effective as leaving it by a radiator or something? :-/

    rice lowers the humidity, meaning the water evaporates much faster out of your phone...

    anecdotally, 12 hours in a sealed bag of rice = 2 days of regular air drying.
