Does the phone charge when plugged in to USB?

If you've ever used an iPhone, you know that that's an alternative way to charge the phone, aside from the A/c adapter. What about the Nexus One? Does it charge when connected to your PC/Mac?

    TIA,
    jake

You make it sound as if Apple invented the whole charge from a USB connected to the computer. lol.

Yes, N1 can be charged connected to the computer via USB. But not as fast as via a/c adapter.

USB charging is slower than using adapter.

    Charge control

That's great. Is there a way for the device to control whether i want it to charge or not while connected via USB? I heard that some other devices has this capability.

I don't think so. Not sure why you would want that anyway.

Well i'm not sure if a fully charged battery will make the device to be running powered directly by the still-connected usb cable. I mean to override battery power consumption. You know, like a laptop that is fully charged and running directly from the charger power.

I just got my Nexus One!

Do I have to charge it completely before using it for the first time?
