    What slows down my N1??

I recently tried a friends' iphone 3GS. booooooring...... My phone is sooo much cooler!

    But:
He's phone was fast (I didn't try browsing). I mean, I pressed Flixter (movies app) and schwung! the app opened in no time. If I open the same app on my N1, it takes around a second for it to open. The same with my contact list. I press... wait a second.. and *then* it pups up.

It didn't use to be like this.

What slows down my N1? What can I do?
I have installed many apps (probably 30), have 85 contacts facebook-synced with picture etc. But I still think a 1 Ghz phone should be faster than the the Iphone!

How are your phones? What can I do to speeden it up??

Do you have apps running in the background? If so that can hurt your performance. Try killing some apps that you don't need running anymore and see what happens then. Good luck!

By definition the N1 is 40% faster than the iPhone.

The iPhone3Gs processor is 600 MHz, the N1's snapdragon is a full 1 GHz.

root your phone, itll free up a lot of memory and you will also be able to overclock your processor for even faster speeds

before i rooted, with LESS apps than i had before i averaged around 90mb of memory after killing all the un-needed apps. but now, i'm at around 250mb with even more apps than before!!! and it's so much faster and smoother than before! i love it!

    yea u do.
i dont know dude i mean the iphone is a very closed platform. you run one app at a time plus i have to agree their menus are pretty damn smooth. but like i said i have probably about 100+ apps and i run about 10-20 all the time and my phone is pretty damn smooth as well

So does rooting automatically give you more memory? Or after flashing a ROM to be specific?
