Google voice users are you still paying for text?

One of the many reasons I moved from the iPhone to the n1 was Google voice intergration. My Google number is my primary number thus allowing me not to pay for a texting plan. On T-Mobile its not a big deal because I am only saving $5 a month since unlimited text is cheap. If you are on att it would save you $20 a month. That is hefty.

Doesn't SMS on Google Voice need the use of data?

This is interesting. So you could theoretically get plan with no texting but unlimited data and be able to send and receive texts for free? What about if they are forwarded to your phone, does this count as a text?
    Bought the AT&T N1.

GV has the SMS feature for free.
All SMS's go into GV inbox.
It will not count toward your carrier's charges.

Interesting...what if you have them forwarded from your GV inbox to other mobile phones?

I suppose you can do that. They go automatically in GV inbox. So, you can check them online on any computer.

On the iPhone is not intergrated into the OS, as apple did not approve it, and there is no notification. You have to open the app to check for messages.
