Nexus S: 3G and WiFi Problems

    Hi guys,

I bought the Nexus S at Best Buy 3 days ago... Unlocked, but with Pay as you go from T-Mobile.
Since then I experienced some Problems: 3G doesn't really work, the Connection lasts for some seconds and then breaks down again.
Similar Problem with WiFi... The connection breaks down after a short time, but it works fine with my notebook, so it must be the phone??

    Do you have similar problems?

    joe

problem with 3G tmobile, nexus s

I also bought nexus s from bestbuy 3 days ago and since then 3G only works for a few seconds and then is lost for one minute or so.
It works well when I specify "2g only" in the settings.
Also, wifi works well for me.
    I live in Miami Beach.
I called tmobile and they said they will check their towers here.

i found out the wifi problem isnt correlated to the 3g problem.

The 3G problem must be T-Mobile's fault, because they dont cover it very well in our area :/
I will change the carrier next month

3G working well with streaming data

I just observed that when I listen to radio on 3G the connection stays on perfectly. However, when I am browsing, 3G drops after a few seconds of inactivity and it takes about 30 seconds or more to reconnect.
I think the phone has a problem keeping an inactive 3G connection.

So it's a phone issue and not a T-mobile problem?!?!

I went to bestbuy and tried another identcal phone and had the same problem. They told me that it may be the problem with my old sim card (about 4 years old). I will go tomorrow to replace it with a new one. See G1 needs new 3G SIM CARD !!!!! Per T-Mo customer care.

I got a new SIM card but still same problem. I called Samsung but they said they have no idea what is the problem.
I wonder if the 3G network in my area (Miami) is the problem. Maybe it is not very compatible with this particular phone.

I dont think any of the companies would admit its their fault. Samsung would have trouble with claims from costumers and so on...

maybe we should ask some other people in miami with 3G on T-Mobile...
    OR
check for Samsung Galaxy S problems with 3G, i think its very similar to the nexus S
