I don't believe it, the ringtones reset again today. The SMS[handcent] goes to silent and the phone ringtone becomes the last track played in the Music app !!
This was after receiving the 2.3.2 update though so lets see what it does tomorrow.
BTW I'm now wondering whether my music folder shoule be in the same place as ringtones and notifications and where should pictures be ?

Shoulnt need to put 'em in same folder.... when i select a mp3 to set to ringtone, a copy is automatically created in the ringtone listing.

Are you using a task killer ? If yes, i would uninstall it. Maybe it messes with your settings.

Maybe an issue of 2.3.2 ?

I Know What Is Causing 'Own' Ringtones Not To Work

I now know exactly what the cause of the problem is.
It's whenever I connect to my PC.
My Handcent notification sound and my phone ringtone were both silent today after I put some video on my phone the night before.
Tonight I made sure the tones were reinstated then connected my phone to the PC.

    Turn on USB mass Storage.
    Open folder on PC
    Safely eject on PC
    Turn off USB mass storage

    All tones reset to silent.

Now how do I ( or how does Samsung ) fix the problem ?

Can anyone else go through the steps to check a rintone or notification they have added themselves ?
