    Finding Files on Nexus S

I'm in the midst of moving music files from OSX to Nexus S. My music collection is a mess, and there may be multiple instances of songs with different file names, as well as different versions of a given song, but with the same file name.

I'm using Finder to copy files from my MBP to the NS. I'm now at over 500 files. When I want to find a given file, I can only use the main filename list; if I use the search field in Finder, I get nothing.

Any hints as to how to serach for files based on filename fragments?

    Thx for your help!

I *had* used it, but I couldn't find the files I'd uploaded. Once I was disconnected form the computer though, it came up with the /mnt/sdcard directory and I was able to navigate to where the files were.

It also has a brilliant search mechanism.

The down side is that I can't use this while connected to the MBP when I'm actually copying files over. Any suggestions for this? I'm thinking I need an alternate Finder type program which can do the search on the Nexus.

    Thx for the help!

No your stuck for that because in mass storage mode the SD card is not mounted to the phone so it is the equivalent of having nothing in the SD card slot sorry but that is the way it is. Also just a little heads up I don't really like astro I use ES file explorer IMHO the ui is much better and the search works fine.

Ok that was not cool and why I'm with stupid I mean it's an opinion you don't need to be rude about it.

I use Adao Teams File Manager. If you have root you can get in the phone memory too.

I have no doubt that was not meant to be rude. That smilie is all over the place, and is considered a good-natured agreement. There is no personal intent behind its' use, and taking offense to it is a bit much, IMHO. Relax, dude. It's just the internet!

Excuse me? What's rude? I was agreeing with you.

Lighten up. It's a standard smilie (just like this one.)
