    Internal vs. USB storage?

    Hey guys,

I was managing my apps, and I noticed that some apps can't be stored onto the USB storage, only the phone storage.

I didn't even realize there was a different. I just thought the phone had 16GB internal.

How exactly is this set up on the phone?

    Any insight would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Usb storage is to transfer stuff off your computer to your phone and vice versa.

Maybe you meant SD storage ?

With Gingerbread on my Nexus One, I can move all of my apps easily to the SD, except for system apps. I Just go to settings----applications----manage apps. Select an app and there is an option to move the app to SD.

***But on the Nexus S, I think there is only internal storage. (No SD, correct me if I'm wrong) So I don't know where else you want to store your apps... lol

When I go to manage my apps, I have a choice of "move to phone" or "move to USB". Some files can go to USB, others can't.

    I'm confused

It's because the nexus S has one more memory partition than the nexus one it has USB storage which is the equivalent to the nexus one's SD card. But just so you know it works just like on the nexus one and only part of the app is transfered it leaves a footprint in the internal memory.

So, is that why only some apps can be transferred over to the USB?

Pretty much, cause some apps do have the code to move to the SD card/internal USB memory but some don't.
