I travel in areas that have no cell coverage and no wifi. I would like to be able to determine my position on Google Maps or another map service using gps without any data connection. For example if I am in another city and do not have phone/wifi service. Or if I am in the bush on a hike.
To date I have not been about to use my Nexus S at all to determine my position. It seems I need a data connection at least at the start of my hike.
Can someone suggest software to enable this? Or will I always need a data connection to sync the map to my location.
I know how to store maps on the sd card for later use. My issue is using the maps with gps without a data connection. Thanks!
