I did the same thing last week. What a great phone. Only downside was that it was not connected to T-Mobile's network so I couldn't even run a video or try and download something. Wanted to see how the network speeds compared.

I dnt agree :-/ the N1 was the pinnacle of what a Smart phone was capable of doing on Android then and what it can do in the near future.

Ex. Motorola Atrix. Then Nexus one lead up to this..just my opinion thuough

i'm a d1 user now, but am going to probably make the switch to the nexus s when my contract goes up in june, unless manufacturers start making some serious changes to their bootloader policies (doubt it...). i tinkered with one at best buy too -- made me want one even more. i dont even care if "faster" phones come out... i just want a phone i'll have real control over. to me, there's no substitute for openness.

I've had this phone for about 3 months on a (relatively) cheap deal by UK standards. "Free" phone @ £25 pcm for 24 months with a 1Gb data limit and more texts /minutes than I can use. It's fine for Newbie Me and I've yet to be stumped by it. I traced my poor battery line to the Gallery App pre-loaded onto the phone. It turns itself on and has go be killed! I suppose I'll find a real problem some day?

The Gallery app shouldn't be killing the battery. That's a new one.

Well I've sent the report in to the OS people with the readout which showed the situation so no doubt they will have kicked it around.
