Other than Direct X it really brings nothing to the table over XP.

False. Unless you mean horsepower to get eaten up by necessary background processes, so that you have some left to actually use your comp. Vista is a horrible OS. Why do you think they released Windows 7 beta like two weeks after Vista was released...

Both my laptop and desktop use a Core i7 920 processor, 6GB of ram (desktop uses DDR3 1600, the laptop uses DDR3 1066), the desktop has 2 GTX 285 cards in SLI and the laptop has a GTX 280m video card. When I bought them, I bought 2 copies of Vista Ultimate with the tech garantee (meaning I would get copies of Win 7 Ultimate when it was released). Both ran Vista very well, no issues.

That said, Win 7 is what Vista should've been out of the box, and yes, if you have a strong enough system, Vista will run fine.

Exactly the way of feel. I have been a Windows user since Win 386. I used to enjoy configuring and trouble shooting PCs. Now I just want my computer to work.

I now have 2 Win7 and 1 XP computers. My next computer will be a Macbook Air. I cannot wait!

Buying a laptop soon. Probably a Lenovo. Then I will dual boot it with Ubuntu.

There is not much to look at in this signature.

    Macs are for ninnies.

If you've never awakened to this image, you've never used a computer.

Core services wise it brings MASSIVE, MASSIVE improvement over XP. Granted, 7 balanced performance, user experience, and resource usage.
