It can be peaceful at times but we have some terrible winds. The last storm we had produced 70 mph winds that tore a lot of shingles off the house. We are at 2044 feet which isn't real high but at the same time its wide open so there's nothing to block the weather from hitting us head on.

70mph is like a strong tropical storm at the coast here in NC. That's some impressive winds. I have to replace shingles all the time at the coast. I got 2 bundles of replacement shingles there one for the first story and one for the captains nest (room surrounded with windows which makes up the second story). Shingles are a pain.

well after humid conditions and lots of vog, we have yet another big storm right now. lots of flooding this morning.

what are vogons? Lol...we lots of Vog due to an active volcano that's been erupting over 25+ years. YES u read correct. Look up Kilauea Volcano the oldest longest active volcano in the world.
so I live on Oahu but the volcano is on the Big Island and when southern winds kick up its really bad...like this;
this was presidents day when I went hiking with friends. it was bad viewing
