My girlfriend has an iPhone 3GS(poor girl ) and I was wondering how to set up google voice on her phone. Could any one explain what needs to be done? Like how to forward the voicemail and so forth?

You have to set it up through the web interface. www.google.com/voice

You will need an account and it's invite beta only. You can set up the voicemail forward and settings right at that address in your account.
