No Audio on Calls Without Headphones or Speaker

All of the sudden, my phone has gone crazy. This is my 2nd Inspire from AT&T (warranty replacement for faulty mini usb port) and when in-call there is no audio sending or receiving. I've ensured that the call is not launching muted. I can wear headphones and utilize the speaker phone but callers are saying its very broken and tunnel sounding. Anyone have any suggestions before I take it to a corp store?

Wired Headphone Routing Fix


There is an issue with a lot of Android devices where the OS thinks the headphone is being plugged in and unplugged on its own.


I have rooted 4.0.4 AOKP and it still occured.

I had a similar problem, which was no sound at all. The Android settings indicated the sound was cancelled in Music and Notices, marked by a (/) over the icon.
Fix: Increase the volume on the device. When this volume is all the way down it cancels the Android settings. This can occur if you're trying to get a screenshot by pressing the volume down and pwr button at same time and not realize the volume is now turned off.
