Droid 3 won't charge or turn on
The battery on my Droid 3 ran all the way down a couple of weeks ago. I hooked it up to my car charger (we were on vacation), but after 6 hours, it was cold and still had no charge. It did nothing when I tried to turn it on (obviously). I plugged it in all night on a wall charger but had the same results in the morning (nothing). I google searched my problem, and one site recommended to someone with a similar problem to plug their phone in using an iPad wall converter. I did that, and It worked. My phone fully charged and worked like normal. Well, two nights ago I forgot to plug it in and the battery ran all the way down again and I can't get it to turn on. I tried charging it with the iPad wall converter, but it's not doing anything. It's cold and not charging. The little white light near the micro SD port lights up if I hit it just right, but that's all I get. I took it to Verizon who tried charging it, but got the same results as I did. They told me to take it to a battery store, who put a new, charged battery into it, but nothing happened. They told me to take it to a cell phone repair shop, who looked at it and said my motherboard was dead. Am I out of luck or does anyone have any insights?

Sounds to me like your phone had given up the ghost. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
The led lighting up sounds like what happens when the motherboard on a computer goes up. The fans work, but nothing else happens.
