Which fix is this (sorry, I'm not a big Inc follower because I have a D1)? And is it SLCD-only or does it seem to be random and cover all hardware revisions?

probbie, not all ROMs cause random reboots. If you're experiencing this then there's either a problem with how you flashed the ROM (forgot to wipe, perhaps), the ROM itself, or your phone. Sometimes, reflashing the same ROM can solve any weird issues you're having. What ROM are you running?

I apologize i thought i linked this Random Reboots but i currently am running cm6.1 with this hulu hack How to watch Hulu on your rooted Android 2.2 device and 20 minutes into a show it would reboot and then keep rebooting so how i fixed it like the first link says is i just used set cpu to set the cpu lower and now it works, so i bought one of ebay that had random reboots thinking i could fix it, i had to put it in the fridge to get it cool enough to even use it so i rooted it quick and installed clockwork mod recovery all in about 20 minutes and then it started rebooting again so i put it back in the fridge then i did a nandroid back up of my rom on my phone that i know works and flashed it to that phone and no go still would reboot. So i tried skyraider on it no go i tried uncommon sense still no go. So i was hoping you guys had a one size fix all kind of fix, if you read my first link that will give more information. I was more looking for ideas on how to fix this issue but i am happy for you guys that you havent had to deal with it on your devices because if you just google this issue you will see how common it is

Try something like Redemption ROM- very stable. If it reboots on that (after a full data/cache/Dalvik cache wipe) then it's most likely a problem with the phone itself.

Battery temp reading safety reboot maybe ?
Pencil eraser on the terminals clean?
It stopped my old LG6100 from false heat reboots (pretty much my first action with every model phone problem since) back about when batteries first started getting the ability to tell the phone to shut off. if too hot. Before that only moto batteries had the chip .
