I just checked the drivers and doesn't seem to be doing anything. i'm gonna head fof and start fresh on this tomorrow. I'm going to consolidate my steps and see if i'm missing anything.

However the only thing about the driver that could be a problem, is a couple times trying to get itno the boot loader, ti booted the phone like norma, and gave 5 different drivers that needed installing, buit only 1 did for the USB. i couldn't find drivers for the other 4 as well. could this be the problem?

That's weird. That's why whenever I update my Motorola drivers I install the app, clean out my old drivers from within the app, then install the new drivers while I'm still in-app, reboot, and then do whatever I need to do -- puts all my stuff fresh.

We'll get working on this tomorrow, and maybe someone with more ideas than I currently have can help out.

the 4 drivers that come up are :
    Data Interface
    Diag interface
    MUX interface
    and a TCMD interface.

None of those have a driver as well

Just wanted to add that tomorrow a new data cab;e should be arriving for the droid x, and i'll see if anyone else has one. i know the one i'm using is an ebay cab;r since the real one my dad used was broken. so it could eb a cable. who know. but if anyone knows what to do with those 4 drivers, please let me know

Well i've tried another cable thats from verizon itself since my brother uses it for his droid incredible. but the bootloader still won't connect to USB. If i plug in the cable it shows on the bootloader that its in USB mode for a split second and then reverts back to connect USB data cable.

Have you tried a different computer/different USB slots?

yea i was switching between my laptop and my pc and tired several usb ports and 3-4 different cables as well. the only thing stopping me is the fact that the bootloader will not see my cable connected, while the screen with the Motorola symbol does. I think i have to be in the bootloader for it to be accepting the images

Sorry, mate, was out on a date. However, I'm running out of ideas here myself. I'll try to get some DX-perts to peek in.

In fact, unless you have some objections I'll move you to the Rescue Squad section here for more visibility to the Rescue Squad in general.
