Droid X boot loop
Hey, i'm new to this forum but maybe someone here can help me. I've been looking over guides all day and done all the research i can before asking, so i won't be asking any n00bish questions.
Basically i have a droid x from ebay that's in a boot loop. Now First thing i tried was a factory reset by holding the "home" button while i power it on. i also tried to do an update but that didn't take either. So basically that way seems out.
Now all the info i have on this phone comes from the boot loader which is at version 30.04. which should translate to 2.2
Next i tried to SBF the phone into working again. I installed the Motorola drivers right from the site so they are the most up to date, and then i installed RSDlite 4.8. I downloaded several different SBF's at verious firmwares to try to load.
Now what i do step by step is:
Make sure phone is off
Open RSD by right clicking and run as administrator
click the 3 dots to select the firmware file located at root C:/
load it in
Now when trying to get to the boot loader 2 things happen
------------------------------------------------------------------------
A)hold volume down and camera and power it on to get to the black screen
it loads to the bootloader with the USB cable attached but says connect USB data cable and is not seen on my pc at all. i cannot do more this way.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
B) i hold both volume buttons and it loads to the moterla symbol and the USB kicks in. the phone is seen on my computer.
When trying to SBF it always comes up saying "ERROR: Flash failure: Phone[0000]: Phone is not compatible with multi-interface super-file. (Error Code: 3b)"
Now i read that might be an ini file problem so i've even tried with the patch. no SBF's i've taken will get back it loading the image.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
What can i do at this point? I've been at this for hours and tried so many things. if anyone has a suggestion please let me know. If anyone get this fixed i'll send them $5 through paypal even. You don't have to believe me but please help! i need to get this working

What does your bootloader say when you power the phone up into it? What SBF are you trying to use currently? Can you boot the phone into recovery?

Android Lurker
my bootloader says
Bootloader
30.04
Battery OK
OK to program
Connect to USB
Data cable
It is plugged in when it says that too. As far as i know this phone is not rooted but i could be wrong. but i can get into the factory recovery menu too

What drivers did you install from the Motorola website?

When you did the factory reset, what did you get? Has the phone's water damage stickers been tripped?

the file was MotoHelper_2.0.40_Driver_4.9.0

I did a factory reset as soon as i got it, also did a separate cache wipe. The water triggers are fine on the inside and in the headphone jack.

Sounds good so far. What OS are you on?
Okay, next up on the list -- when you installed the program did you then clean out your old Motorola drivers, install new ones, then reboot the computer before trying to run RSD Lite? If so, try reinstalling RSD Lite.

Sounds like the wrong SBF. What SBF are you using?
