Battery and Camera problems, on my brand new htc desire s
ok i got my Desire S a little under a week ago, and have been loving it since, but i noticed from day one that some times the battery meter will turn grey and display a exclamation mark above it, nothing seems to trigger this, nor does it hinder my phones operating , also i downloaded a couple of apps, FATBOOTH and LITTLEPHOTO, i used fatbooth once and now when i use it again when ever i take a pictures it just shows up as stripey lines, same with the LITTLEPHOTO app when ever i take a photo with these two apps the images are just distorted stripey lined images , i havent tried any other camera apps, the camera itself is working fine , just when i try these apps, my partner has a Htc Desire, and the apps work fine for her, can someone help me please ??

Try another camera app. If you have streaks in the pictures I'd recommend contacting the developer directly and asking if this is a known issue. If not, consider taking the phone back for a warranty replacement. 14 days runs out fast, so give it a whirl.

Also, what tests did you run to verify the camera itself is working correctly?

I can't say as I've heard of that problem before, to be honest. I'm not familiar enough with the Desire's software and hardware to give much of a satisfactory answer, but I'd ask if it does this often, rarely, or only when the battery's getting low?

I'd contact the carrier and ask if they're aware of the problem, then the phone mfr and ask if there's a fix. There may be, they may offer an exchange, or you may be wasting your time -- but you have to try.
I don't know if there's a quick fix or not. If there is, please report back so we can share it with others if more come up with this issue!

I have problem with taking pictures with apps like were already mentioned here. But when using built-in apps everything is fine. Maybe this has something to do with firmware or permissions?
