This is a discussion on Screenshot within the Rescue Squad Help forums, part of the Android Rescue Squad Support Forum category; I've looked around and can't find this subject anywhere. Is it a complicated process (consider who I am) to develope screenshots? Not important right now ...

I've looked around and can't find this subject anywhere. Is it a complicated process (consider who I am) to develope screenshots? Not important right now except I was trying to describe something to my son and wanted to send him a pic of the screen I had up. I still ain't ready to root so maybe there's no way? Thanx
Oh and maybe the "rescue squad" is the wrong place for this as this isn't an emergency. Am I supposed to stick within my phones' forum or I think I saw a general discussion forum (?) or...Thanx again.

    Not really complicated.

I found this in a Google search:
    ShootMe (Screen Grabber)
While the product description says it requires root, various posts online claim it worked on their Optimus T without it. The instructions are here. While it says Optimus One, the "T" is based on it, so it works on that model as well.

If that doesn't work, it might require downloading and installing the Android SDK files. Use this one: Easy ADB
By using the ddms.bat shortcut, it will let you take a screenshot.

Since you may not have access to view the link I was going to post, here is the post on the XoomForums on setting it up:
Ensure USB Debugging is on. Settings/apps/development

    1. Download the EasyADB zip
    2. Extract the files
    3. Copy SDK Tools folder
    4. Navigate to C: drive
    5. Paste SDK Tools folder on root of C: drive
    6. Open command prompt in Windows Start icon (in search textfield type in cmd and press enter)
    7. In command prompt type in
    Code:
    cd C:\SDK_tools

    8. cd C:\SDK_tools is your path. Now enter:
    Code:
    adb.exe

    9. ADB will execute and start
    10. Connect device via USB and wait for drivers to install. **If not then install these Drivers (should include latest drivers for most devices)
    11. Type in:
    Code:
    adb devices

    12. Daemon will start and your device should now be recognized. An alphanumeric string will denote the presence of your device.

thank-u fish1552: ShootMe worked no prob! You should see all the comments (reviews) left at Android Market (I was re-directed to there from Google search) saying your phone must b rooted and I was able to blow that theory out of the water! I wonder what's diff about this phone...Now I want to know how I can post a screenshot to this forum as I have a question about my sd card. thank-you

Maybe I'll try a different forum for my screenshot question?

You can post here. Worst case scenario I'll just move it.

I try to read every new post on here, just to be sure everything's on the up and up.

Okay. I was just wondering once I have taken a screenshot, how can I display it on this forum? For example, I have a picture of my sd card that I would like to display here and ask a couple of questions about it. Nothing very important. Just a curiosity thing. (I've been experimenting with Astro file manager, even managed to gain a few mb's on my card using it). If displaying a shot isn't possible, I'll ask my questions w/o it. Thank-you very much.

    Oh that sounds easy. Thank-you.
    Here goes:
Nope. If I try to upload the screen shot to "this forum", it says "the file is not a valid image format". If I try to upload it to "Tapatalk Hosted" it says "pgn image has incorrect file extension". Oh well. Wasn't meant to be I guess.

Are you trying to attach it to a new post? If so, it may be that it's in .png format. I'd have thought a screenshot would be in .jpg. Hmm.
