Data Connection Drops When Phone Sleeps
My G2 recently developed an issue where the data and/or wifi connection shuts down when the phone is not in use. When I wake the phone up the signal icon and wifi icon in the notification bar is often white for a short time and then, sometimes after a minute or two, switches to green. A T-Mobile rep told me that when the signal icon is white I am not connected to the data network. Can someone shed some light on what might be wrong, what troubleshooting I can do?
Thanks!
Phone: G2
software version: 2.3.3

Hi!
Are you use any automatic data disable app like "Battery defender" or "Juice defender". If so those app can ability to disable data and WiFi connection when phone is sleep. Also battery saver can do it. So check those apps settings.
update feedback!

unfortunately I do not have any battery saver or Juice Defender software on my phone. I actually run it full on and plug in frequently.

Have you ever yanked your battery out? Do you have an app or task killer on it? If it just started and never happened before what have you recently changed on it?

Do you have the WiFi policy set to never go to sleep?

tell me how to check wifi policy not to sleep. I have looked at all the settings I can find and do not see a "do not sleep" setting. Great idea, I hope!

Settings> Wireless & Networks> WiFi Settings> Menu Button> Advanced> Wi-Fi sleep policy> Never
At least that's how I got to mine. :-)
