I think you have to use computer for root android phone. Otherwise its hard process. If you need root your HTC Evo 3D post it in here.
Try using super one click, just Google you phone and super one click together. I think there's different one clicks for different Tom (froyo gingerbread honeycomb ics ). Find the one for yours and its easy just watch a video of someone doing it so you now what you have to do and are what goes on when doing it.

If you don't have a PC, then you can use your friend or another person that you know. If you root your phone, if there is any fault or failure, its not affect computer, its only affect your phone. I have a rooted phone. Heck I have 3 rooted phones. So I am not against it but why do you want to root your phone?
