it is completely stock. No root. There was one or two upgrades a long time ago, but none for the market. those were a year or 2 ago. i tried the link and it did not work on my phone-something about not compatible. do i have to download that on pc, then transfer to phone?

Try going to 4shared.com and look up android market apk then find a file then download it on your phone. Once done select it in your notification bar then it should ask to install it. Make sure you check "allow install un market" under settings –> application

it took a while to find a 4shared file that didn't give me some error message, but i eventually found one that my phone accepted and I got my Market back! Yay!. Thank you for the tip
