    Cannot Connect to Data Network?

I have a year old samsung galaxy s vibrant that has been acting up the past couple of weeks. For the longest time I had a notification that said I had low internal storage, which I didn't because I cleared almost everything out of my phone, but just today the notification vanished. Thankfully thats gone, but for the past week my data won't connect to my network. I'm with bell, my payment is up to date and everything else on my phone is working fine. I can connect to wifi, make calls and texts, use my applications as I normally would. My flight mode is off, my phone just won't connect, I go to turn on my data network and I can click on it and it says its on but its not connecting. Please help!

    Welcome to the forum!

It is possible that you have some unwanted app that was causing the storage notification. I have seen malware apps that come with another app (battery maximizer or background picture apps) that give a notification about a bad battery or not enough storage space. It could be somehow blocking data too.

You may want to try uninstalling all apps you do not use regularly to see if that helps. Also, try something like AVG scanner to see if that finds anything on your phone.

Last ditch is a factory data reset which will wipe all the data from the phone. Depending on your configuration, it may be easy to back up your data, but I am not too familiar with the Galaxy S to comment on how to proceed with that.

I'd recommend the factory reset option.

Thanks, I've done a factory reset and it did nothing. I also have anti-virus on my phone and it says everything is normal. Unfortunately my cell still isn't connecting to my data network, so I'm just going to take it into a bell store and see what they can do! Thankfully its still under warranty for a couple of weeks.

Hopefully that took care of it.

BTW, antivirus on an Android device is not only pointless, it's usually a battery and CPU hog.
