Question Apps Show in Google Play, But Aren't On Phone

Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 (Android 4.0.4). A month or so ago, there was a hardware problem. I did a factory reset (as Samsung told me to) but this didn't fix it so it went off to Samsung for repair. I now want to reinstall some of the apps that were previously on the phone.

When I go into the Google Play site, it shows (under My Android Apps) several applications that were there before the reset - not all of which were obtained from Play - but they aren't on the phone. It also shows another application as being in the store already, but not installed. If I click on the Update button for the former, or the Install button by the last, I get a message saying that a download will start shortly, but it doesn't. The phone's connected by usb, for avoidance of doubt.

This isn't a browser problem - I've deleted history and just tried again on a machine from which I've never accessed the Google Play site. It's as if there's some sort of ghost of the applications on the phone that are being picked up by the site.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Applications that were not purchased on the Play Store will not update from it. You will have to go to the place you first got them from. When you did a factory reset it deleted everything and the Play Store will not record them since you didn't get them from there to begin with.

    -end of line-
