Really looking forward to V6. I really like the new theme on the dialer. The MTM Blackout keyboard is the best android keyboard I've used yet.

    Dorian,
The calculator would look cool in the black out theme also! But I dont use it often.

    Thanks!
I use the analog clock, the honeycomb clock from the market, or Beautiful Widgets. Taking the time off the status bar eliminates the burn in risk. AMOLED's have burn in kinda like plasma TV's do.

Just upgraded to your version 5 of the rom. Loving it. Just a couple questions...

    1) It seems I have to turn the brightness setting way up to get the same look on the screen. If I just unclick the auto brightness setting, there's almost a reddish tint to the screen. Is this due to the new kernel?
    2) There's still some video call settings under "Sound". Since we can't do video calls, is there any way to get rid of that?

Other than that Dorian, loving everything about this rom. Keep up the good work
Unfortunately yes. The kernel contains a "color fix" that I'm not really fond of myself. I'm thinking of bumping the color temperature down a little cooler on V6. I've actually thought about removing the settings for video call, but I just haven't had the time to.

EDIT: And about the brightness, that's kernel related also. I'm not entirely sure the ambient light sensor is reporting the right values, causing the screen to be abnormally dim while on "Auto".

IMO, it looks clean... Plus on the S-AMOLED panels it makes the letters almost have a 3D effect. They just stand out so vividly, even in direct sunlight. Plus it saves battery... it's like a win-win!

Nice! I didn't even think about that! Skinning the calculator is the easiest thing ever, so expect that one in Blackout too.

BTW, for all that would like to know... The apps that I'm skinning for Blackout can be replaced by the normal looking ones with the regular Gingerbread theme I plan to post.

    Dorian,
What app do you recommend for virus protection? I have been using Lookout with no problems. Thx!

hi, thanks alot for all of this... you just made my captivate the baddest on the block.

I tried installing the Voltage Control from your link and it said that it's not a supported kernel. What have you used on the current builds for undervolting/overclocking?

    Thanks

Hmm. I don't think I've ever used virus protection on Android. I have the hosts file modified on UGJK3 to block ads, spam, and tracking analytics services.

Well, actually the kernel I'm using now doesn't support OC/UV at all. I shot for more battery life vs speed improvements... BUT.. If you'd like an OC/UV compatible kernel, try SuckerPunch's kernel. Beware though. When that kernel is flashed, it is set by default at 1.4GHz and since some phones can't handle that you'll go into a bootloop until you re-flash a different kernel or re-flash a ROM.

Would this be easy to do for the JS3 release? I pulled the hosts from this release and placed it on my phone.

Sure! All you'd have to do is drop the hosts file from JK3 into /system/etc on JS3.
