I believe so... Though I'm not for sure. The dev stated he fixed some Samsung specific issues not too long ago, and it's supposed to be working.

Awesome! Glad it's working good for you!

    Hey Dorian,
    You sure have been BUSY!
Is the JS5 and JS8 stuff available on the web anywhere (like the JK3 builds and downloads)?
Do you plan to add the "EMail No Security" patch for JS8?
With the EMail No Security patch, which works great, can corporate still wipe the phone?
Does JS8 have SWYPE yet (can't live without it!)?

I'm loving JK3, but got the itch...
    Thanks,
    Randy

LOL... Not as busy as I'd like to be. Gingerbread's kernel development is maddening. Makes me want to rip hair out. ROFL.

But no, the JS5, and JS8 builds are specific to the beta thread here and android.net. But I plan on an update package for a few things for JS8 tonight or tomorrow. WiFi firmware, hosts file, E-Mail client, Swype, and some more odd fixes and some UI stuff. About the ability to remote wipe, I'm not sure. I don't have any way to test that, but it should. The only thing removed was the prompt for password and such on login.

The main differences between 2.2 and 2.2.1 that are visible to the user are: better media focus (no stutters when playing back HD video), handles font rendering differently, inertial scrolling and rubber-band list bouncing has a more natural gravity to it.

Update time! This is an update for JS8. It doesn't require a wipe, and no personal info is lost.

    This addresses:
    WiFi connectivity issues
    Weak WiFi signal
    Slow DNS resolve times
App for enabling/disabling auto call recording
    Update the stock music player
    UI framework modifications

    - Download Here -

Hi Dorian, the ROM is running great, HeyTell seems to be running ok, but I just checked my task manager and found that HeyTell wasn't running. Does task manager kill apps automatically? If its not task manager killing it, then HeyTell still isn't working right... By no means is it your fault, HeyTell just does not seem to like custom ROMs for Samsung phones.

It should be in the launcher under the name "Automatic Call". It doesn't really have an icon, just a generic green and white Android icon.

By task manager, do you mean the one that comes with Android, or another 3rd party one? If the app is supposed to stay open and running in the background, it wouldn't actually be a problem with this ROM, more so the app itself. Android apps come with a value attached to them called OOM. The higher the OOM value, the quicker Android will kill that task off when memory is needed. The lower the value, the harder it is for it to be killed. OOM values don't change from device to device though, and that's something that was specifically tested here before I posted this one.

I'll download HeyTell and see what it's doing.

Not quite sure why it's not showing up, in your case, but you can download the APK...

For disabling automatic call recording, install this apk and select whether you want to disable automatic incoming recording, outgoing recording, or both... then tap change.
