Surprisingly it actually only needs Vol- and Power for Download and Vol + and Power for Recovery

Maybe, I just learn that I can also hold vol. - and plug the usb to get into download mode. I didn't try this on stock jvb, I'm running continuum v5 from stock (jvb) and xcal v1 gingerbread.

I just decided to try the Clean Gingerbread install from HaiKaiDo. It went flawlessly. I see now though after waking up this morning there are even more Gingerbread roms on XDA....I am still looking forward to Dorian's, that will be my daily driver.

This is great. Now that folks figured out that the source has been released, there will be all kinds of chefs out there cooking up ROM's. I for one will wait to see what Dorian comes up with and keep running his JS8 build of 2.2.1 until then.

I decided to try out the ROM by HaiKaiDo... [HowTo W/Pack] Flash Stock I9000 2.3.3 NEE Updated (again) 4/23/11 - xda-developers
I've been running it all day and it runs very well. Not that Quadrant matters, but it only scored a 865. It is super fast though and i have not found any issues. As soon as Dorian releases a 2.3.3 I will be on it.. I can 't wait for his ROM.

Did you figure out how to bypass the bootloader? I am very curious on how you might have made it safe for flash

^ What he said. MikeyMike (the dude that makes serendipity) hard bricked his cappy because of the bootloaders. If you've actually figured out a way around them, then you've 1up'd the dev's on xda.
