I download this and open the Odin 1.81. From here is where I get lost, I assume the next step is to connect my phone in debugging mode and press the start button on the Odin. Well it doesnt seem that my phone connects. I press the start button and this is what I get in the message box.
    <OSM>Enter CS for MD5
<OSM>Check MD5..Do not unplug the cable..
    <OSM>Please wait..
    <OSM>Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..
    <OSM>Leave CS..
    <OSM>All threads completed. (succeed 0/failed 0)
Is this being done right? If not can someone please help me?
You need to be in DOWNLOAD MODE. - There is no debugging mode.

The idea is to have Odin3 already open on your computer, go to download mode via the above method, then connect the usb cable.

The procedure for flashing with ODIN is this:
    • Open the ODIN One-Click Downloader
    • Shut your phone down and boot into Download Mode
    • Now plug your phone into your computer
    • Your computer might need to install a driver, but it will do this automatically
    • Your phone should be listed in a yellow box inside ODIN as a COM number
    • Press start
    • ODIN will run through the procedure, flashing your phone with fresh software
    • DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR PHONE WHILE IT'S DOING THIS. Doing so would probably result in a brick.
    • After ODIN finishes what it's doing, it will automatically restart your phone, then you're safe to unplug it.

On Step 3, Aren't we missing some PIT Files etc to flash that kernel? When I open that Tar file with Odin it says it is missing an image? Can someone help?

***Nevermind, you need Odin 1.81 to flash the kernel.

Dorian you were going to put out a new build for the Captivate a while back. Any news?
I am running JVP-2.0 and it has been less stable for me than the previous build you had put out. The Bluetooth has been a problem on this build.
The prior release JVB 2.3.3 Beta1 had serious camera issues but otherwise was wonderful. I have almost went back, but have been holding out for your next release. Any clue about how long it will take for the next release? Can I mix parts from different builds? I am wishing I could take camera app from this build and put it into JVB 2.3.3 Beta1

    Thanks for the wonderful work.

When I get to Captivate it'll be 2.3.5. Should be very soon. I'm kind of working on a staggered release... First RedPill for the Atrix, then the Infuse, then Captivate. I just released the Infuse ROM, so the Captivate is next.

Great and very anxiously awaited news !
If coming from your JVP 2.0 Stable can 2.3.5 be flashed over it ?

Really looking forward to 2.3.5. JVP has been great, but you know how it goes. Gotta have something new.
