Could you post a little more info? Maybe a screenshot? I've never seen that before.

If you have root, then you can grab a screenshot app from the market for free. If not, then I'm afraid it's kinda convoluted. If you're not rooted, could you describe it more?

Sorry not rooted. The icon looks the same as when you mount your SD card but when mounted its white. This one is red and in the notification drop down it says " Low on space" "database storage getting low"

Interesting. Database storage is on it's own partition internally. The Captivate has 16GB of internal NAND memory, and it's divided into 2GB for ROM which is where your /data partition is located, and 128 of it is shared with 384MB of RAM to make a total of 512MB... the rest is user accessible storage in the amount of 13.1GB.

If it's saying your DB storage is low... either there is an issue with the file system, or you have a LOT of apps installed.

    Try this:

    Turn your phone off.
Hold down both volume keys WHILE pressing the power... you have to hold the volume keys down a bit longer than power.
Now you'll see Samsung's Android recovery...
Use the volume keys to move down to "delete cache data" (make sure to NOT hit clear User data, or it will wipe all your personal data)
Now press the power key to select.
The process only takes a second, now you can reboot it.

What that does is clear out Android's cache files, and it will rebuild them at the next boot, so it may take a minute or longer to boot.

From here, I'd say that that warning will turn into an issue here soon. Memory space is finite.

You could try reflashing stock 2.1, because if it's an issue with the file system just factory restoring won't help and you'll get that same error after a while. (after backing up your apps and such)
