I saw the announcement this afternoon that the Captivate will go on sale 7/18. Looking forward to checking one out in the store while I wait for my next upgrade to come around.

My local AT&T store mentioned the same date yesterday.. 7/18. I'll be there in the morning checking one out!

Keep in mind that the Captivate is just the first in a series of more advanced Android phones due out within the next few months.

Look it over real good, sure. But don't get out the check book just yet.

Before Christmas there'll be a couple of other items on your list and likely they'll be ahead of the Captivate.

Yeah I'm thinking of saving my upgrade for a future phone and buying this one off-contract $350 price and selling it on ebay down the road.

$199 with 2 year contract and data plan

$349 is the no commitment pricing which is pretty tempting.

Launch Date = July 18th. From my understanding there won't be any pre-order process.
