    USB Mini port

I had the same problem with mine. I took it back to the att. They showed me that I hadn't slid the cover of the port over far enough. It now works perfectly.

I had the same loose connector problem with my Galaxy-S, and after reading this post, I checked the sliding lid. Sure enough, I wasn't opening it all the way. Works fine now. Thank you!

Did you make sure that the door is all the way pushed open? I have seen this as an issue on other websites and that was the fix. Hope it works!

I've had this issue too. They need to get rid of the door.

On mine, whether the door is open all the way or not doesn't seem to matter - the cable that came with the phone works fine but my cable at work slides out way too easy.

You can solve this issue by trimming the edges of the plastic on the USB cord. If you'll notice the one that came with the phone is really a small end compared to the other cables. The plug on the Captivate is too deeply recessed to use normal cords without issue. In the picture the one on the right is the stock Samsung USB cable, and the one on the left is a cable from Blackberry that I trimmed. After trimming it works perfect.
