Skype for Samsung Captivate

Any one no where I can get Skype for Samsung Captivate - Galaxy S? I went to Skype site to use their download wizard and get this Data connection error.

The Skype Android app I believe is only available on Verizon. There used to be a "Skype Lite" app I believe, but Skype has discontinued it and no longer offers it.

There is Iscoot application through the market syncs with ur Skype account...

i searched for the Iskoot app in my market and it couldnt find it. any other apps that will sync with skype

I got it straight from the market place only after I upgraded to 2.2

Skype is actually available to everyone in the Market now (well, Android 2.1+) but there are current issues with it working on Galaxy S phones (such as the Captivate). You can give it a try to see if it will work for you.

How did you upgrade it? How can I upgrade mine? I have a Rogers Captivate as I am in Canada.

I don't believe there is an official upgrade yet for the Captivate but there are some custom ROMs available which are Android 2.2.
