    New to Android

I am new to the forum and I just started using a Samsung Captivate. I am still using an iPhone 4 also. I was looking for info on how to get the 2.2 update. Thanks

To update the easy way, you'll have to wait for AT&T to actually push out 2.2. They haven't officially released it yet. The stuff I'm working on is from the European GT-i9000 Galaxy S, which is essentially a Captivate, but Samsung has already pushed 2.2 out to those. If you don't mind the difficult way, there are quite a few options for getting 2.2 on the Captivate.

    Welcome to the forums BTW!

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm ready to get down and dirty. Even though I'm a Newbie to Androids I think I could handle it.

Ok, then you can try my ROM in the Captivate section here, or there are many many ROM's at XDA. Most all of the ones out now for the Captivate are 2.2... some are 2.2.1. You'll find all the information on how to flash ROM's in my post, and those directions should work with just about every ROM out there (aside from the ODIN flashable 2.1 ROM's).
