    Who is holding the update

I found this news this morning they have screen shots from ATT website showing captivate with 2.2. Unless if they are not using one of Dorian's ROM (LOL) I think they are pulling our legs.

That screenshot clearly shows an i897 Froyo build, which is different than what I use. I use i9000 base. But AT&T just made a big booboo. They've just shown the world that they have a working build of Froyo. They can't renig now.

Careful with that Dorian. Motorola has been testing and working on the CliqXT 2.1 upgrade for months and just last week announced that it had been scrapped.

I'm leaning towards ATT holding it up at this point. They have the deathstar, they can go all Vader on Samsung for not delivering, so its gotta be AT&T.

I honestly believe that once the official 2.2 release is out we'll all be on gingerbread 2.4 based roms anyway.

So, I've been informed that the reason that it hasn't been released yet is because the 2.2 build was indeed scrapped. They decided to skip 2.2 in light of 2.3, and are going to release 2.2.1, which is a more feature complete version of Froyo.

That is definitely a good news. Is there an ETA?

Looks like it'll "ship" tomorrow, Froyo for the Samsung Captivate officially pushing Feb. 24, says AT&T! | Android Central

About the same day the Nexus One gets Gingerbread...

And the idiots that make decisions at AT&T are going to actually ship 2.2, instead of 2.2.1.

    /tactical facepalm.
