What have you tried to solve the issue? The standard response is to try a reboot and see if it solves the problem, but I'm guessing you've done that. So, I have to ask if you're getting any errors. If so, what are you seeing?

Hi, I am facing the same problem. My galaxy Ace cannot send/receive MMS. I have checked APN settings through my service provider. (and these are correct). I can surf internet but cannot send/receive mms. There are no error messages. Messages come to the inbox and the status remains "Downloading" forever!!! Same is the case when sending a MMS. (Status remains 'Sending'!!!). I have checked the simcard with other handsets and MMS can be sent/received perfectly fine. I think this has something to do with some bugs in their operating system. Can someone please help me out with this? I have called customer care...but they seems to be ignorant about the problem!!!
Thanks a lot in advance...

I am also having the same problem, as well as not knowing how to stumble through this forum. Has anyone posted any answers?

I had the same problem. To fix it, packet data must be enabled. To do this, follow these steps ... 1. Settings 2. Wireless Networking 3. Mobile (bottom of list) 4. Enable packets (top of list)
Make sure to disable it once you've sent the message (if you don't have a data plan) b/c it can run in the background.

Hi. I had the same problem for months until I was advised last week up download Handcent from the market. This seems to have solved the problem totally for me.

Hello squirrel_pigeon,
If I understand you correctly, does Handcent manage the data packet services for you when you want to send and receive MMS without you needing to manually connect and disconnect data packet services?
I've been pulling my hair out with Virgin Mobile as my wifes new (since 28th Jan) Galaxy Ace has the exact same issue (I believe) as this thread has been discussing.
Apart from being a security risk being connected to the internet all the time, she doesn't want data packet services permanently connected.
My phone (HTC Desire) automatically connects mobile web (the HTC version of data packet services), sends the MMS and disconnects again once its finished sending, and the same goes for receiving MMS.
Also what version of Android have you got, this Galaxy Ace comes with 2.3.3
Regards.

When I send an MMS the little 3G icon appears on the notification bar and the arrows flash. I presume that means it has booted up the data service automatically - I don't have it on as standard as I prefer to connect to wifi if I can to save my data allowance.
I have the latest version of Gingerbread that Kies will provide - I believe it is 2.3.3
