What is meant by a terminal app?

ok, ignore that. I downloaded the app and put in what you said and it came up with "ping 192.168.2.1 (192.168.2.1) 56(84) bytes of data"

Try again, and hit enter/return..you should see some activity (trying to ping, success or failure).

ok, i've tried again, and all it said was the same as I put above. Nothing about success or failure.

That's not right. What is your current wifi sleep policy? (Settings->Networks) Set it to 'Never' and reboot, then check your wlan settings again (should still be static), and when the phone drops connection again, fire up terminal and ping the host. Heck, ping the host WHEN you have a connection, just to see it working.

When the wifi is conencted, and i type in the above, it carries on. However when the wifi is not connected, it says what I wrote above and then stops. Sleep policy is on never.

Dear all,
Ever facing the wifi setting once scroll down the short cut press"wifi" the icon did not turn Wifi from OFF.
SO u cannot connect to wifi coz wifi cannot switch on,But when u turn off ur Ace and turn it ON then u can connect.
After restart the phone u be able to connect the wifi.

Did someone know how its happen? and why?
