    Help wanted

I am a light user on PAYG I am charged 1 a day by vodafone for switching my phone on.
If I switch off Packet Data I lose the 3g setting and save a1 a day but will this in any way
affect the use or ability of the phone for calls and messaging.
    Thanks

Hi. If you turn off packet data you won't be able to send/receive MMS or use the internet when not in range of Wifi so your smartphone kind of becomes a regular phone. If you're on PAYG it might be worth looking at other networks as there are PAYG 'packages' that allow you to use data without the extra charges.
