Are you saying that the touch screen is not working?

The touch screen doesn't work but the phone boots and otherwise runs normally?

It is safe to assume that this was not sent from a computer that doesn't fit in my hand.

It is probably a software issue that might have come from the factory reset our maybe you had a bad recovery image to begin with. You will have to get a hold of a stock ROM and flash it trough ADB maybe. Not sure exactly as I'm not familiar with the phone but that's where I would start.

It's one of two things -- the software issue Rob mentioned or a failed digitizer. The timing indicates a software issue, but a digitizer (touch screen) can go bad at any time without warning.

First step is to reflash the ROM. If that doesn't work, you'll have to replace the phone. Good luck!
