Backup of Stock ROM
This is a discussion on Backup of Stock ROM within the Samsung Galaxy Gio forums, part of the Samsung Android Phones category; This is a beta 3 version, I don't know if there's a final version.

It is going to take a long time for me to read all those posts and learn how to properly install it. Meanwhile I found another ROM its called GioPro v 1.6, I installed it and it and it seems to be much faster than the stock ROM. However from the beginning I noticed that it filled the internal storage by 75 Mb, which I think is larger than what the stock ROM did.
I am still trying to figure out how is the procedure of reinstalling the stock ROM I managed to take a copy with CWM?

Go to CWM and just install it from the backup folder.
In CWM Recovery, press Backup and Restore, then Restore and locate it in CWM folder. Press "Yes."

I have one question left, I see on my SD card that a folder is created by the name of Clockwordmod and inside it there are two folders plus one Visual Studio Settings file.
Inside the
backup folder there are 8 subfolders each named by dates such as 2012-04-24.17.29.03 (5 of this kind) and the last three subfolders are dated as 2012-04-27..... All these folders fill above 700 Mb.
Does all those folders I mentioned above count as the stok ROM together?
For reinstalling this stock ROM in the future, do I need to zip all these folders and flash it?
How did you back up the current system successfully, trying to do the same thing but I get those "can't mount ..." errors even when entering in Clockwork mod recovery mode.

Can't mount what? If it's the SD card, then go to "Advanced" and find the option to mount it. If it fails. Turn off your phone, pull out the battery, wait 30 seconds and put it back in. Then go back to CWM and try mounting it again. Usually, it helps, unless you have a bad ROM that doesn't allow you to mount it or if you have a bad CWM version. In the later case, just flash a different CWM.

Did you try pulling out your battery and holding it for a minute? If so, try flashing a different version of CWM.
