Complain to a supervisor or your carrier and get a supervisor. It's a faulty device. Remember you can get a better result if you don't yell, however, I would make sure they understood your disatisfaction. Usually a supervisor can fix your problem and be adament.

I have the same issue with a Galaxy Gio, I noticed it spikes only in 2G mode, not in 3G mode.

That's interesting. Any idea what data protocol the phone uses for 2G on your carrier? It might be related to that. Some of the data protocols actually use the voice system to transmit the data, so it could be interfering and will require a software update.

correction, I had set the phone on 2G only. If you disable this it can use UMTS and GPRS. It now still spikes in both states. So, no difference between 2G and 3G.. What I did notice is when you end a call the volume spikes when pressing the screen. It look when holding the screen to your face might trigger the same effect. Try if it also occurs if you have earphones connected.

Waiting for the next software update..

reloading firmware doesn't make any difference.. seems to be a hardware issue anyhow. sent it to a repair center, under warranty.

Sounds like it to me. Hopefully they'll fix it or replace it with a phone that doesn't do that.

Wow. Talk about coincidence. Hear me out please. I got sick of this issue (and what was expected to be a long warranty errand) so I ordered myself a GT-S5660 (Galaxy Gio). it wasn't that much more expensive than the ~Mini, so it sounded like a bargain. However, my issues remain with this new phone. Also, I'm getting frequent Sleep of Death's with both phones. Starting to wonder if it's the D-Link DIR-615 (rev. B2) that I have at home; some sort of incompatibility issue, so to speak. Unsure, but it's really weird. Oh, I was also thinking about that 2G and/or 3G situation, so I tried setting my phone to "Only use 2G", but issue seems to remain. Would be cool if us guys tried pin-pointing it for Samsung tech to fix. I don't feel like pushing both these phones into service, especially since they probably can't do jack about it. Any ideas guys, progress?

I'd recommend collecting as much information as you can and then presenting it to Samsung directly. If enough people do this they'll have to listen.
